Comment #8 Net Scourge (63.176.159.238) - 05/02/09 19:43

This is the most simplest definition of what Erin is looking for which says.↓

"Ayurveda is a wholistic system of medicine from India that uses a constitutional model. Its aim is to provide guidance regarding food and lifestyle so that healthy people can stay healthy and folks with health challenges can improve their health."

If you want more details, the link below will provide more on what you are looking for

Comment #9 Jimmy (63.176.159.244) - 05/18/09 10:25

To Net Scourge, your link does not match the statement you post. Better make your search more accurate and real next time.

Comment #10 Neutron boy (63.176.159.53) - 06/03/09 02:28

Hi Jimmy, do not be mad at Net scourge, here is a real description of Ayurvedic:

Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India, and practiced in other parts of the world as a form of alternative medicine. In Sanskrit, the word Ayurveda comprises the words āyus, meaning 'life' and veda, meaning 'science'. Evolving throughout its history, Ayurveda remains an influential system of medicine in South Asia. The earliest literature of Ayurveda appeared during the Vedic period in India. The Sushruta Samhita and the Charaka Samhita were influential works on traditional medicine during this era.Ayurvedic practitioners also claim to have identified a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for curing various ailments and diseases.

Siddha medicine, which dates back to around 5000 BC originated in southern parts of India. The word Siddha means "an object to be attained", "perfection" or "heavenly bliss".

The Siddha medicine also recognises the role of three Humors, called Mukkuttram (Vatam, Pittam and Kapham). These humors remain in a balanced state in normal healthy person and disturbance in their equilibrium leads to ill health.

Siddha physicians base their diagnosis on Mukkuttram and Ennvagai Thervu (eight entities) i.e. Nadi (pulse), Na (tongue), Niram(colour) MoozhiCvoice), kan(eyes), Sparsham(touch), Malam(faeces) and Muthiram(urine).

Education in Ayurveda and Siddha System:

Medical education of 5112 years duration is imparted for undergraduates and 3 years duration for postgraduates. There are well developed and balanced curriculae for teaching and clinical exposure followed by internship. Medical institutions imparting undergraduate & post graduate education are affiliated to universities and have to maintain the. standards laid down.

Comment #13 Chris (63.176.159.250) - 07/16/09 03:32

More of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a 5000 year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. Although suppressed during years of foreign occupation, ayurveda has been enjoying a major resurgence in both its native land and throughout the world. Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine both have their roots in ayurveda. Early Greek medicine also embraced many concepts originally described in the classical ayurvedic medical texts dating back thousands of years.

More than a mere system of treating illness, ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the proper use of our senses, ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.

Amazingly, most people are posting resumes and applications in the forum yet an email has been provided for use on the same. If thinking outside the box is a real requirement, I think you have already lost out.

I do agree writing in caps lock sends a bad picture and no employer would dare to look at it more than twice.

I then gather that Ayurvedics pursue the alternative medicine line?

Comment #17 Chuck (63.176.159.234) - 09/13/09 19:28

There are so much info in this forum about the practice of Ayurvedic and Siddha.

But i am still curious if this kind of practice really works, i mean does it works equally with different people? Is there any variations on the outcome, based on individual practices?

Those qualifications are vast, i have to tell you that it would be much nicer if you post that in the appropriate employment site.

Comment #18 Missy (63.176.159.184) - 11/26/09 21:46

I find your post a little irrelevant and nonsense Chuck. Don't you have any good things to say other than that nonsense?

And for those people who are posting their resume here, try to submit it on online employment site. There you can be rest assured that all your CV are well taken care of and it can be read by companies too.

Good luck on your job search people.
